What information does MyStar collect?

MyStar offers a personal assistant program. In order to participate in this program, we require information such as your name, email address, phone number and other related information in order to properly process and activate your account. The information collected is NOT, UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES, shared or sold with or to other companies. It is our first priority to keep customer information and data private. Information collected may also be required to limit and prevent any type of fraudulent activity to protect our customers.

MyStar may also send out advertisements, promotions, and special notifications via email and/or text message. The notifications are often sent by your selling dealership and are not initiated by MyStar. During the process of submitting, activating and using your account, you are automatically enrolled to receive such notifications. If you chose to receive these notifications from MyStar, or you feel you were mistakenly added to our mailing list, you may easily unsubscribe by clicking the "unsubscribe" link at the bottom of the email, replying with the word "Quit" to text message notifications or by contacting us directly at support@mystarauto.com.


What are "cookies" and how do we use them?

"Cookies" are a small type of data sent and utilized by your browser, and stored locally on your hard drive. For the purposes of using our site, we require that cookies be turned on (enabled in your browser) in order to fully use our site. MyStar utilizes cookies to temporarily store data such as site preference settings, and to assist us in preventing targeted ads from popping up that you have marked as "Do Not Show Again".

MyStar also collects additional data, such as your IP address and related information (geolocation, operating system, browser and version, etc.) for the purposes of demographics in order to best tailor our site and products, and enhance the experience for our customers and visitors.


What does MyStar do with your data?

For the most part, not very much. Information we collect is used to process and activate your account, first and foremost. Outside of that, it's kept under lock and key, and only used by our call center to facilitate your account functionality, and provide you with the best possible personal assistance experience by recognizing you by name when you call and having easy access to your query history.


Who do we share your data with and why?

MyStar, under no circumstances will ever sell, rent, trade or share your information with anyone other than the departments within our business, on an as needed basis. You have complete control over your data and we only require very basic information to maintain your account.
